The design of digital tools is an essential factor in achieving sustainable water use and the highest possible efficiency. This is one of the recommendations of the “Water Innovation Europe 2024” report made public following the discussions held at the conference this year in Brussels. Reclaimed water in Spain has a new regulatory framework. The RD 1085/2024 aims to guarantee the safety of reclaimed water for various uses and to promote water sustainability. In this way, Spain is aligned with the European standards of quality, control and European sustainability requirements on water reuse contained in the European Regulation 2020/741, and promotes the adaptation of the European Green Pact.In Adasa we lead the use of digital solutions that will help to guarantee the quality of reclaimed water, detect bacteriological contamination and facilitate compliance with this new royal decree.
